[Phoenix to Seattle] (another) Airport thriller…. (part 3)
Continued from part 1 and part 2
Honestly, after seeing that line on the screen, I almost gave up. I said to myself, “This time it got me! I cannot be lucky all the time, can I?” But before I started thinking too much, I heard my name was mentioned on the microphone. I looked at the source, it was the airline desk next to me and I saw Kenny was there and I heard him saying, “Ms. Lim is here.”
He and the US Airways staff quickly came to me afterward. The staff, she didn’t say much, she directly asked for my boarding pass. I gave her my print-out and said, “I am sorry, I am really sorry.” She replied me with a big smile, “That’s OK. That’s OK.” How nice!
And the next five seconds I witnessed one spectacular view. The black door was opened, and I saw the light!!! Oooooh….. I did knock a heaven’s door…. haha. Well, it almost felt like that
I was so so happy and relieved!!! Oh my my…… A dream came true. Oh, it was actually something that I never dreamed about.
The next one minute, there’s no suspense anymore. Kenny pushed the wheelchair to the plane. Literally to the plane. I guess I needed it. I could pass out on the gate door. So, yes, I got on the plane, a big thanks to Kenny, the hero of the day! The passengers who sat next to me welcomed me with smiles! One of them said, “Oh, you made it! We have started flipping coin!” Hehe.
It wasn’t an enjoyable ride. I was really sick. But at least I got to Seattle. Now I just woke up. After a series of loosing cookies episodes aka offering a sacrifice to Ralph the porcelain god yesterday, and a nap, I am feeling better. The conference started yesterday, I missed it… and may miss some of today too. But who cares… I need my rest. Luckily my note on key won’t be until tomorrow. So I’ll be fine. Wish me luck.
FINE.
