[Rambling] Something Given
Again… another weekend rambling. I’m in the midst of finishing an article and packing and preparing travel documents and daydreaming…. so ….this is one of those incoherent thoughts. I actually did a little more coherent writing on Dangdut, but I’ll keep it for later.
In my last posting I might sound like bragging, but, really, it wasn’t the point of my writing (therefore you have to read until the end — thought it was long!). In fact, there, I spoke about ‘talent’ at ease because I do think talent isn’t something I can brag about at all.
Talents are given. How could you brag about things that you earn without working much? Like your physical appearance, how could you take credit of that? That’s given.
The color of your skin, the shape of your face, the density of your hair, the length of your legs. What did you do in life to get them? Nothing, right? Almost nothing, zero. Of course you might work hard to keep them in good shape… but that’s a different story.
There are many things we have that are given. We have no credit, contribute nothing to their existences in our lives!
Strange, though, people praise you for having those things…. and when praised, people usually take them as if they have worked hard to get these talents. Strange indeed!
Anyway…. I’ll stop here. Back to writing. Back to packing.
I think I am still a cranky mode. Or perhaps I am just too tired…tired….tired.

My best friend used to tall me “ur talent is ur curse”. like u, ur talent of learning fast makes u lazy to put extra effort.
my curse, sometimes i think is that i am not so talented. and that makes me a hard worker. my talent is also that i am a dreamer. but that makes me a dream catcher who is not sure if reality exist
mer: right, that’s what some people told me, including my parents, my brothers, my (ex)boyfriend, my highschool teachers….. so, no worry, i heard that enough :p
dreamer…. that’s one of my traits, too! touch!!

this talent thing reminds me of “For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away”.
