On break — week 3

On Break -- week 3

It’s already the 4th week of my break. Haven’t done any sketch of the 4th week yet, so here is one from the week #3.

I started feeling much better on the third day of this week. I started taking care some boxes so the living room looked a bit better. But my house was still pretty messy. I still couldn’t move any furnitures yet.

One blogger asked whether I really look like Dr. House with a cane and vicodin? Yes, pretty much. I, however, don’t take Vicodin (hydrocodone). I take something stronger than that, which is class 2 narcotic drug — percocet (oxycodone — the most abused underground drug!). So, I am eligible to play my own series…. Dr. Lim :))

Not much to tell from my third week except that I got some invitations to travel again this month. One of them was this one:

Yth. Dr. Merlyna Lim
di Arizona State University, Tempe

……cut……….

I never got any invitation from Indonesian government before, so I really wanted to go. However, doctor said that my recovery would need 6 weeks… 3.5 weeks to go!! Arrgh, occasionally someone needed to break doctors’ orders, right? Right!!

Did I go to that event? Call me crazy, but yes, I did go. I was feeling better for a couple days, on Wed and Thu, so I decided to fly on Friday. After all, what’s so difficult about sitting down on an airplane for just one hour? Also, traveling on wheelchair made it possible for me to not miss the flight, hehe. Yoohooooooo…… I am “on” again!

I guess moving furnitures was more dangerous than travelling on a plane? :P Get well soon, Teh! And congratulations for your new home.

mer: thanks. yes, you’re right. basically, and seriously, lifting is more dangerous than sitting down!

wow…mer, you make me think i can draw as amazing as you are with that pics…i’m drawing you who is drawing the room. cool n thanks :D

mer: thanks, it’s cool that you can draw me drawing me drawing the room :D

That’s what so called live your life to the fullest rite? including being naughty breaking the doctors’ order.. ha ha..
but still amazed you travelling on your wheelchair alone?

mer: yes, sure! same opportunity doesn’t come twice! do while you can :) traveling alone is not a scary thing even on wheelchair :D

None of my business of course, but still a good question by Sugarlady: don’t you need someone to push your wheelchair?

Anyway, this was a good news post: obviously you are still alive and kicking. Well, not too much kicking actually.

Hope you enjoy(ed) the trip and all that jazz.

mer: haha….. sometime i need, sometime i don’t :) yes, i am alive and squicking :)
