Interview at “dialogue”

During my Australian visit last semester, I did several interviews. One of them is apparently available online.

LL: I’ve had the opportunity to listen to you present at several different venues during your stay in Australia so it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to follow-up with you on some of the issues you’ve raised. Let’s start though at the very beginning - how did you get interested in studying the Internet in Indonesia?

Great Dialogue. Interesting to see the fall of centralized power & wealth and the role of shared information. The challenge for the future is brutal capitalism/ greed. I wonder the role of cyberactivism in economic & environmental justice.

mer: thanks, Nemo. to some degree political justice also capture economic and environmental justice. so while we didn’t dig these issues, the class touched upon them, and actually some students deal with these in their individual papers.
